Importantly for successful integration, a number of ‘shared values’ have been identified, ranging from open and honest communication and information-sharing, and being flexible to adapt to change, to seeking continuous improvement and new ways to improve.

These shared values serve to enable more effective working relationships, aid the sharing of knowledge and experience, and optimise the value of the combined resources of the Joint Team, so that SSMG staff gain improved visibility and understanding of support delivery and issues within the wider context of ISM’s outputs and how their personal efforts contribute, and ISM staff are better assisted in their roles with support more focused on delivering their outputs and flexible to respond to their changing needs.
